At Milan Fashion Week, Alessandro Sartori unveils Zegna's Spring/Summer 2024 fashion show, showcasing the pinnacle of their craftsmanshipfeaturing a premium rendition of linen, lightweight knitwear, as well as jersey pieces.

 What does summer signify for <a href="https://www.hommessingapore.com/style/ermenegildo-zegna-summer-2022-mens-fashion" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Zegna</a>? This inquiry was posed by creative director <a href="https://www.hommessingapore.com/style/ermenegildo-zegna-collaboration-with-jerry-lorenzo-39-s-fear-of-god" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Alessandro Sartori</a>, and he provided the answer in Piazza San Fedele, hosting a Spring/Summer 2024 Men's Fashion show en plein air, risking sunstroke due to the timing just after lunch. However, it resulted in a remarkable spectacle, with models striding beneath the statue of Alessandro Manzoni while onlookers from various offices gazed out of their windows, enjoying the unexpected show.

"In winter, cashmere immediately defines the quality of our product, and we needed to find an equivalent for the warm season," explained the creative director. Hence, the birth of Made in Zegna linen, derived from the processing of the most exquisite fibers sourced from Normandy, just like the 192 round bales encircling the venue. Soon, these bales will be transported to Trivero, the historic headquarters of the wool mill, where they will be transformed into precious, lightweight fabrics or sturdier ones, depending on the desired effect envisioned by the designer.

"The combination of top-notch raw materials and our production capabilities yields an incredibly versatile product, akin to the rest of the Zegna wardrobe, which is increasingly involved in redefining the brand," stated Sartori. In fact, the concept of reimagining menswear with fluid lines, timeless silhouettes, and effortless combinations designed for men but wearable by women has become a certainty in the Zegna universe, intent on playing with the idea of an efficient wardrobe. "Tops, trousers, underpinnings, footwear, and accessories should seamlessly blend together," added Sartori. The objective is clear: enabling customers to enhance their wardrobe with garments that harmonize in terms of silhouette, weight, and colour. 
"I am deeply captivated by workwear, which in the '50s and '60s birthed exceptional models in terms of functionality and style," expressed the creative director. "However, unlike that era's reliance on cotton and basic packaging, every component and detail here is of the utmost quality." For instance, there's the leather-lined slim-line suit complemented by linen, the meticulously tailored tank top, or the ultra-streamlined jacket, deconstructed yet striking in form, enhanced by the wearer's movements. What a sight to behold indeed!
